Privacy Policy • Effective Date: 2026
Section One — Introduction and Scope
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled at bicepbuddies.com (the Journal), a health and wellness publication operated under the trade name Bicep Buddies that offers articles, a newsletter, and an optional paid membership. By using the Journal, subscribing to its emails, or joining the membership, a person consents to the practices described here.
Throughout this Policy, any person who visits, reads, subscribes to emails from, or holds a membership with the Journal is referred to as an Enrollee. Bicep Buddies operates the Journal as a trade name and does not disclose a separate legal entity or physical address through the Journal.
Section Two — Information We Collect
Information You Provide. An Enrollee may provide a name and email address when subscribing; a mobile number or survey responses if offered and supplied; account details and billing information when joining the paid membership, where card details are entered with and processed by a third-party payment processor and are not stored by Bicep Buddies; and the contents of any message sent to the contact address.
Information Collected Automatically. When an Enrollee uses the Journal, technical information is recorded automatically, which may include IP address (which may be partially anonymized), browser and device type, operating system, referring and exit pages, the pages viewed, and dates and times of access.
Information From Other Sources. Bicep Buddies may receive information from advertising and analytics partners, such as a pixel-based identifier or inferred interests, which may be combined with the information above to measure and improve content and advertising.
Section Three — Cookies, Analytics, and Advertising Technologies
The Journal uses cookies, pixels, web beacons, and similar technologies to operate the site, remember preferences, measure audience and content performance, and support advertising. Analytics providers such as Google Analytics help measure usage. Advertising partners may set cookies or pixels to show interest-based advertising on the Journal and elsewhere.
An Enrollee can manage cookies through browser settings and can opt out of interest-based advertising through industry tools such as the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative. Disabling some cookies may affect how the Journal works.
Section Four — How We Use Information
Information collected through the Journal is used to:
- deliver articles, the newsletter, and the paid membership, including premium content and member support;
- process membership payments, renewals, and cancellations through the payment processor;
- send communications an Enrollee has requested and, where permitted, related promotional messages;
- measure and improve content, personalize what is shown, and support advertising;
- maintain security, prevent fraud, and troubleshoot; and
- comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable terms.
Section Five — Email Communications and Your Choices
Marketing and informational emails are sent only to an Enrollee who has opted in. The sign-up on the Journal states that an Enrollee agrees to receive emails from Bicep Buddies and from its marketing affiliates; these may include promotional offers from third parties. Every marketing email includes a one-click unsubscribe link, and an Enrollee may opt out at any time; the request will be honored promptly. Transactional messages about a membership or account may still be sent, as they are not promotional. This practice is intended to comply with the U.S. CAN-SPAM Act.
Section Six — How We Share Information
Service Providers. With vendors that host the site, deliver email, process membership payments, and provide analytics, who may use information only to perform their services.
Advertising Partners. With advertising partners that use cookies and pixels to provide interest-based advertising. Under some U.S. state laws this disclosure of information for cross-context behavioral advertising is treated as “sharing” (see Section Seven).
Marketing Affiliates. With the marketing affiliates an Enrollee agreed to hear from at sign-up, so they may send the offers the Enrollee opted in to receive.
Legal and Protective Disclosures. Where required to comply with law, regulation, legal process, or a governmental request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Bicep Buddies, its Enrollees, or others.
Business Transfers. As part of a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets of the business operated under the trade name Bicep Buddies, subject to this Policy.
Section Seven — Your California Privacy Rights
California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected and how it is used and shared, to access or delete their personal information, to correct inaccurate information, to opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information, and not to be treated differently for exercising these rights.
Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. Bicep Buddies does not sell personal information for money. However, the use of cookies and pixels for interest-based advertising may be considered “sharing” under California law. An Enrollee may opt out by using the advertising-industry tools above, by enabling a Global Privacy Control signal in their browser (see Section Twelve), or by emailing a request to the address in Section Fourteen.
Section Eight — Rights in the EEA and United Kingdom
Enrollees in the EEA or the UK have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection, and may withdraw consent at any time where processing is based on consent. Processing relies on consent (for marketing emails and non-essential cookies), performance of a contract (to provide a paid membership), and legitimate interests in operating and improving the Journal. Information may be transferred to and stored in the United States under appropriate safeguards. Complaints may be lodged with a local supervisory authority.
Section Nine — Data Retention
Information is kept only for as long as necessary to provide the Journal and the membership, to maintain business, transaction, and tax records, and to meet legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, after which it is deleted or de-identified. An Enrollee who unsubscribes may still be kept on a suppression list so that no further marketing is sent.
Section Ten — Data Security
Reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards are maintained to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration, including encryption in transit where appropriate. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and any transmission is at the Enrollee’s own risk; absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Section Eleven — Children’s Privacy
The Journal is directed to adults and is not intended for use by children. Personal information is not knowingly collected from anyone under 18 years of age, and in no case from a child under 13. If it is learned that such information has been collected, it will be deleted promptly.
Section Twelve — Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers send “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control signals. Where required by law, a recognized Global Privacy Control signal is treated as a request to opt out of the “sharing” of personal information for the browser that sends it. Because no common standard governs “Do Not Track,” the Journal otherwise responds to these signals only to the extent required by law.
Section Thirteen — Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be updated from time to time. When it is, the revised version will be posted at bicepbuddies.com with a new effective date, and the updated terms apply from the date of posting. Reviewing this page periodically is encouraged.
